Using Keywords to Get Your Site Noticed – Part 4
I did a search for “Ideas for Church Growth” a few minutes ago. The article itself still isn’t being returned, but it did return this Church Growth Consulting site on Page 2 in position number 16. Check it out:
When Google brings the article back it should be higher than this which is good news. I keep showing you these things so that you can begin to get the idea of what it takes to get your site noticed. I wrote 3 or 4 articles for Church Growth Consulting yesterday. As a reward for all the fresh content, my site got bumped up from position 10 on page 1 to position 7.
I am working to get this site up to the 1 position on this page. One of the advantages to having a blog instead of a traditional website is that the fresh content of the posts helps keep your site moving in the search results. All of the sites ahead of me at the moment are traditional websites except for 1 of them which has a blog that puts up fresh content 2 or 3 times a month. The sites ahead of me also have a lot of links pointed at them which is how they are ending up so high on the search returns. For this site to continue its way upward I will need to keep writing fresh content (which is easy because I like the subject matter and I have a lot to say) and I need to get more links. I eventually want this site to be found not only by Church Growth Consulting, but also by just Church Growth. I’ll keep writing, you keep reading.
